Designing data can be tricky. Designing financial data adds an additional level of complexity when you consider that this product isn't for the casual consumer of information. These power users have a core set of expectations and their expectations don't change from one device to the next. They're not concerned with the challenges of the larger screen. In short, they want their data delivered in a thoughtful way that suits their immediate needs.
An experience made for multi-tasking
The iPad Pro gave us the unique opportunity to take advantage of our user's behavior. Bloomberg Professional users work in a way that many would consider a reactionary, interrupt driven, work flow. The product needed to allow them to communicate, message, research, consume breaking news, analyze data visualizations, view events, and set alerts. Essentially, they need an app that functions like an operating system. The power and the real-estate of the iPad Pro allowed us to create an experience that catered to these needs.
